Classical Music & Beyond is an open group for all music enthusiasts who wish to share their joy of classical music with other fellow music lovers. As the group's title suggests, we do not exclusively focus on the canon of classical music. In Classical Music & Beyond, we also explore the outer realms of classical music, delving into an infinitely vast world of unknown, forgotten, and newly composed music. If you are a performing artist and your works are of high artistic quality, you also have the opportunity to present them to the other users of the group. This may include music videos, but short and engaging 'reports' on the creation and inspiration behind the music are also welcome. Please remember that the group emphasize classical music at a high level, and excessive self-promotion will simply bore the other users of the group. Performing artists in the realm of classical music have limited opportunities to showcase their works to the public, especially without the backing of a major music label. As a user of the group, you have the chance to discover new quality music and initiate direct communication with the artist. We hope that all users will warmly welcome the contributions of performing artists, show their appreciation through likes and comments, and overall take advantage of this exceptional opportunity to get closer to the music. WIST (“Wish I’d Said That!”) is my collection of quotations (https://wist.info) which I find meaningful, moving, amusing (intended or not), or well-phrased. Despite the name, this is not just a collection of quotations whose sentiments I agree with (though that’s true for the majority of stuff here). In some cases there are ideas that I disagree with, firmly; in those cases, though, I’ve included the quote because I admire the way it’s phrased, or because it’s a classic statement of a particular sentiment, or else I thought it was so absurd that it made me smile just to read it. In short, "Quoting is not (necessarily) endorsing." One thing I make an effort to do is research and properly cite each quotation I publish. This site will serve as a rich-text social media republishing of new and updated quotations from wist.info (since nobody actually goes to blogs any more).
