Full-time ebike commuter, but not much of a rider other than that. Trying to learn how to save the world from exhaust fumes, and documenting Bloomington's bike infrastructure when I can.

I've been riding bikes for work, errands, and recreation for the past 25 years in Bloomington Indiana. I have been a restauranteur, stone mason, street musician, webmaster, eco-activist, IT manager, and now, ebike mechanic. I see the world going to hell in a handbasket, but somehow find it my duty to try and turn the tide (mixed metaphor, ACK.)

The Bloomingtonian was started by Bloomington journalist Jeremy Hogan in 2019, after he worked at daily newspapers for over 25 years. The site covers local, state, and national news from a visual journalism perspective. The site mostly covers Bloomington, Indiana, and the surrounding areas, but Hogan is also a video journalist covering national news as a Getty video contributor, and occasionally will put some of that news on the site.
